About This 1838 Abandoned House For Sale In Salem Alabama

Historical home just needs some TLC. Built in 1838 as the Askew Hotel, also known as Houston-Dunn House and Old Salem Inn. Property has been a hotel, school, private residence, and Masonic Lodge. Perfect for a Bed & Breakfast, Restaurant, event venue, or private residence. Property does not have a kitchen.
I am selling this home because I do not have the time to put into remodeling it. I truly fell in love with it when I first saw it! It needs remodeling, TLC and it would be the ultimate farm house “fixer upper”. The lot size is great and it’s located right off HWY 280.

  1. She has experienced so much living in her life!! Sweet Lady, so sad to see the rough treatment you have endured. I agree, her beauty is hidden, but very evidently seen in her structure and design. She needs lots of TLC,but an amazing jewel will come forth!! Hope someone will recognize the treasure within and rescue her. Treat her well, and she will rise to the occasion in all her shining glory!!
