About This 1892 Victorian For Sale In Kansas City Missouri

Urban living at its best! Located in the highly desirable Hyde Park neighborhood, this unique Victorian home with an arts and crafts influence is just minutes from downtown Kansas City and the Country Club Plaza. Built by a lumber magnate at the turn of the last century, the home features beautiful, hand crafted woodwork and other amazing architectural details that could only have been created by an artisan from yesteryear. Yet, the house has been tastefully updated for modern comfort and convenience. Large, light-filled rooms and an open floor plan contribute to the timeless look.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE HOME

The home has an expansive and inviting wrap-around front porch, which overlooks historic Janssen Place. The interior features three fireplaces, an open floor plan, and breezy, 10 foot ceilings. Modern amenities and updates include a highly efficient geothermal heating and cooling system, a new roof in 2018, and new, exterior paint in 2017. The home is within walking distance of Notre Dame de Sion School, Académie Lafayette, and Foreign Language Academy.

  1. I love the colors on this house. Beautiful front porch and entrance way. Love the view across the street. Beautiful stairs and bench seat. Love the wood thru out and pocket doors. Oh, I just saw the victrola record player in the corner of the room with the beautiful grand piano. I am a pianist so I noticed this right away. Some of the fireplaces have beautiful white marble hearths. The built in radiators in the rooms I think is creative and futuristic for that time. I like the modern kitchen with the roll top desk. I can’t forget the chaise lounge on the landing half way up the stair case with the palm trees. Nice back porch and back yard. Every time I look at each picture, I see something I didn’t see before. Ohhhhhhhh!!!! And the last picture of the house, which is over 100 years old I’m guessing, really does this up right. I just WONDER what those folks would think about their house having lasted this long and have been kept and updated and cared for???

Let me know what you think about this old house!
