About This 1905 Mansion In Saint Louis Missouri

Designed by noted architect James P. Jamieson, this 1905 Georgian-style residence has had only two owners in 113 years. Ideally situated on a premier private street with an extra-large lot and a detached carriage house with guest quarters. Exquisite interior and exterior architectural detailing is the hallmark of this handsome home featuring decorative plaster ceilings, remarkable carved wood paneling, leaded windows, intricate mosaic floors and elegant fireplace mantels.

Large French windows lead to an outside loggia with superb limestone trim. A marble-floored entry hall leads to an impressive staircase featuring intricately carved handrails and balustrades. The spacious kitchen includes a butler’s pantry an breakfast room. Six bedrooms and four bathrooms are located on the second floor. This is a rare opportunity to add your special touches and upgrades to this architectural gem.

  1. Absolutely gorgeous. Makes me want to move to St. Lois right away. Wish I could find something remotely this gorgeous in NYC for under $2 M.

  2. Complete awe inspiring!! Standing in the foyer of this magnificent home, I am struck with the feeling of reverence and wonder! Creating the exquisite details in the craftsmanship throughout these palatial rooms was a true labor of love!! A rare beauty, she will delight the heart and soul of anyone fortunate to own her, and feel honored to be part of her life. Sweet Angel of Light!

  3. This huge home would be a very expensive home to heat given the technology of 1905. With modern materials and building techniques of today the basic structure of this home would be reasonably inexpensive to create using ICF as the base for your designs. The utility costs would then only be a small fraction of those for this particular home. It’s the finishing that would drive the price way up to recreate this mansion. I have thirteen children and our Christmas and other celebrations pack our 3800 sq. ft. rancher. One would truly need a large family to begin to use this home and I don’t think it would be too comfy or cozy for a couple, but some people crave huge edifices, and the property tax department probably funds major portions of their budget from this home. It’s nice but?????
